As part of a larger research project, Savica implemented a situational analysis of the food choice environment in primary and secondary schools in Klaten (Central Java) and West Lombok (NTB) districts, with a particular focus on the school canteens. A case study school in Jakarta that successfully implements a healthy and nutritious canteen was added as benchmarks.

In addition, we reviewed relevant policies and compared the condition in the canteens to the current regulations and identified gaps and opportunities for improvement. The field work was carried out in August 2019 and the report submitted in November 2019. A manuscript based on this study is being peer-reviewed .
