Pneumonia and PSBI are leading causes of death among infants and young children. This assignment aimed to map the current situation related to morbidity, mortality, health care services and health care seeking behaviour related to these diseases.
Savica undertook a landscape assessment based on available secondary data, and mapped out the strengths and weaknesses of the healthcare system, as well as the data gaps. In addition, a team of 16 qualitative researchers was deployed to seven districts in seven provinces (Klaten-Central Java, Gresik-East Java, TTS-NTT, Tidore-North Maluku, Central Maluku-Maluku, Sorong-West Papua, Jayapura-Papua) to gain insights in enablers and barriers to positive health behaviour among parents of young children. The results of these two components were compiled in a final report complete with recommendations for a communication campaign.
