Pneumonia and PSBI are leading causes of death among infants and young children. This assignment aimed to map the current situation related to morbidity, mortality, health care services, and healthcare-seeking behaviour related to these diseases.
Savica undertook a landscape assessment based on available secondary data and mapped out the strengths and weaknesses of the healthcare system, as well as the data gaps. In addition, a team of 16 qualitative researchers was deployed to seven districts in seven provinces (Klaten – Central Java, Gresik – East Java, TTS – NTT, Tidore – North Maluku, Central Maluku – Maluku, Sorong – West Papua, Jayapura – Papua) to gain insights into enablers and barriers to positive health behaviour among parents of young children. The results of these two components were compiled in a final report complete with recommendations for a communication campaign.
