Communication Strategy on Combatting Illegal Wildlife Trade

Savica provided assistance to UNDP Indonesia and the Directorate General of Law Enforcement on Environment and Forestry (DG Law Enforcement) to develop an evidence-based national communication strategy, to promote the One Health Approach (OHA) to reduce the risk of zoonotic spillover as well as reduce the demand for Illegal Wildlife Trade (IWT). This strategy is translated into both a strategic document for a one year pilot in Bitung district, North Sulawesi, and a five year national strategy. Savica orgnanized a co-creation workshop with various cross-sectoral stakeholders in North Sulawesi, including government and CSOs to finalize the strategy. In addition to the strategy document, Savica also produced a creative concept document and IEC materials. These were pretested in a series of FGDs with the primary and secondary target group.
